Mornings with Mizzy | Finding My Way Back to Myself
Mornings with Mizzy | Finding My Way Back to Myself
This morning on Mornings with Mizzy, we talked about something that's been on my mind quite a bit lately. Finding balance, living authentically, and creating a life that genuinely makes you happy.
I've been doing a tremendous amount of self-reflection this past year. And with every step forward, I find myself looking at life a little differently.
The things that once mattered don't always matter anymore. Our priorities change, our perspectives shift, and sometimes we realize that the life we've been living isn't necessarily the life we want anymore.
And that's okay!
For me, one of the biggest realizations was how much I had lost myself in isolation. I was spending so much time at home working on our businesses, navigating difficult emotions, and overthinking just about everything. I knew things needed to change, but figuring out how to actually make those changes was another story.
Going back to work was one of the best decisions I made. Not because I needed another career, but because I needed human interaction. I needed routine, different conversations, and experiences outside of everything I had created for myself.
And goodness, what a difference it made!
But finding balance wasn't just about going back to work. It was about recognizing all the different things that make me happy.
I love the lifestyle. I love hosting Mindbender Parties. But I also love traveling, museums, reading, writing, and going on random adventures with Spencer.
Why should I have to choose?
That's actually one of the reasons I'm so excited about bringing my blog back to life and allowing Mornings with Mizzy to evolve. I don't want to put myself into a box anymore. Some weeks we'll talk about the lifestyle, other weeks we'll talk about mental health, relationships, adventures, or whatever the fuck happens to be on my mind.
Because I'm not just one thing. And neither are you!
One of the most valuable things I've learned through therapy and self-reflection is the importance of choosing yourself. Setting boundaries, understanding what you need, and accepting that not everybody is going to understand your decisions.
And you know what? They don't have to.
Living authentically doesn't mean everybody needs access to every part of your life. It means being comfortable with who you are and the choices you're making.
I'm finally getting to a place where all the different pieces of my life feel like they're coming together. And rather than trying to fit into some version of what life is supposed to look like, I'm creating one that feels right for me.
And it feels pretty fucking amazing!
So I'll leave you with the same question I shared during this morning's episode.
Are you living a life that's truly fulfilling YOU?
And if you're not, what's one thing you could start changing today?
Until next time,
