New Hampshire: The Unexpected Adventure From Swinging to Vanilla
Setting the Stage
It's 7:15am and I'm sitting in bed drinking my coffee as I think about the upcoming travel to Fusion Parties, New Hampshire. I absolutely love attending these events because we actually get to party and have fun. We always come out of the weekend with the best memories. I know this will be no different because it's Kris' birthday and he deserves to be celebrated big! Not to mention my birthday is Thursday, so it's celebration time all around!
I actually really need this little trip. I feel like it's been such chaos the last few weeks between our Rhode Island & Long Island Events, Wednesdays at the beach and constant recording for The Mizzy Bender Show has me a bit tired. Some how I recorded 5 episodes in 7 days this past week, which is crazy! I can't wait for you to hear them, but it was alot. Oh, and while we're on the subject of podcasting, Spotify has accepted my podcast back on the platform! That was so stressful too, but I'm so thankful it is resolved! They booted me a few days after I had the hysterectomy and I just didn't have the brain capacity to work on it. So about a month ago I really started to focus on fixing things. I am still waiting for the episodes to loaf, but it should be any day now. Do not listen to the series that just states Mizzy Bender. This is an old setup that I can not get removed. You have to find The Mizzy Bender Show - An Adult Podcast.
I also launched my Patreon yesterday. This is a place you can join me for all the early access, extra behind the scenes, exclusive video version of The Mizzy Bender Show, exclusive Mizzy's Boutique sales and whatever other additional exclusive content I post for the day. The Patreon account will help with purchasing new equipment. I also want hire a full editor to help with sound quality and presentation. Lastly, for now, I want to make my podcast scenery alot more professional looking. It's coming along, but it's not there yet. So your support will really go right back into The Mizzy Bender Brand. I'd also like to add, this all happened yesterday. I worked my little butt off! While I'm at it, I updated my Podbean website as well. I made it more personalized to me, filling in the preloaded images and verbiage. Its something I noticed needed to be done months ago, but I finally tackled it yesterday. The IT stuff really takes alot of concentration for me. I have no idea what I'm doing, so I really need to think and Yikes! Thinking makes me tired. Lol. But overall, I feel pretty accomplished this week.
I started my vision board a few weeks ago and although it isn't finished because I need more magazines, It has helped my stay on track. Creating the board made me have to really think about what I want. That in itself was a powerful exercise. I had to break down each part of me personally and business wise to really figure it out. In a way, it made me feel light releasing everything that didn't serve my mindset any more. It's been a fun experience.
Well, as usual, I've gotten way off track. But, that's the beauty of blogging. Welcome to the Mind of Mizzy!
Woahhhhhhh you guys .... it's 7:52am and Spencer is beginning to pack! That's like 2 hours ahead of schedule! Which, I guess I should leave you for now and start packing myself.
Time to Leave
Well, 10:30am came and went. Lol. Spencer looked at the clock at 10:40am and said ... oh, it's way past time. Lmao. I can not even. So, finally at 10:50am we were in the car for the 12pm ferry. With a regular size car, you need to arrive at least 15 minutes before departure time. Our GPS had an arrival time of 11:50am. Oye!! These are the moments that made me learn to not stress and just go with the flow. It will be what it will be. Plus, it's not our event and stand by is so much easier in the car. So there were options available.
About 20 minutes before arrival, we received a phone call that would potentially change the entire weekend. But I can't share that yet. We have to wait to see what happens. But O.M.G.!
On top of which, I had to pee like no other. So I was staying focused on getting there. When we finally did, the line was cars deep. There was no way I was waiting so I popped my flip flops off and ran my little tush through the rain and puddles to the bathroom. It was kinda fun actually. Live in the moment and embrace it for all it's got!
Spencer pulled up to let me in, where he quickly showed me the ferry tickets! We did it. We some how made it onto the ferry! The only thing I can say is that is the Spencer magic.
Let the Travel Begin
The ferry was easy sailing. The water was calm, which I'm thankful for because it was raining and so you just never know. We stationed ourselves in the lounge/bar like always and ordered our regulars. We eventually migrated to the top deck to smoke before getting in the car. Depending on the vehicle we're driving, we try and keep the Marijuana smell as far away as possible, especially when we are really unsure how flexible other states are. Anyway, it was a bit rainy, but started to clear up as we got closer to New Hampshire.
There's Always Time to Sniff the Flowers
One of the reasons I love Spencer so much is because he truly looks out for me and the things I would love. As we were traveling north, he saw a sign for botanical gardens, (possibly in Massachusetts, I'm not sure. ). So we immediately agreed it was some thing we needed to do. We quickly put the details into waze and started our detour. As always, we never know what we're getting ourselves into. Just that it's something new and away from home. We'll, this place blew us away. It's exactly what I needed after these crazy intense weeks we've been having. It was colorful, inspiring, grounding and so beautiful. There were woods, gardens, open fields, water fixtures and so much more.
Truthfully, if I wasn't so frugal, I would get married there. I absolutely fell I'm love. We got lost in there for maybe 2 hours or so. It was absolutely amazing. Spencer even let me walk thr grounds with no shoes on. Feeling the recharging energies from earth really eased my soul. Not to mention all the purifying that was happening from the ridiculous amount if sweat going on. It was freaking hot! But we loved every second of this place. I highly recommend checking it out.
The News
Now I can tell you what happened. So, about 20 minutes out from our Long Island ferry departure, we learned of a potential issue with the venue and that the event may be canceled. Things were very up in the air at that point. What a terrible thing to hear on the day of an event. I understand the emotions that are involved because we experienced it once too, and its gut wrenching, overwhelming and a bit scary. I also want to make it clear, we were just going to party to support Fusion Parties and celebrate Kris Fusion's birthday, so there was no way we were turning around. So, we continued our travels and waited for the update from Kris.
We officially learned the event was canceled as we walked into the Botanical Gardens. Ugh, that was heart sinker. As a host, that's your worst fear. I am honestly a bit frustrated by the entire thing. People should really be ashamed of themselves. There's no room for politics in swinging and if you do have time for it, you should take a timeout as a human and evaluate why you carry such negative energy with you. That's all I'm going to say on the matter.
The Beach Pivot
We officially arrived to our end destination on the beach around 6pm. We met Kris Fusion and friends at his B&B where we chilled for a little while and explored the strip a smidgen bit. I absolutely loved it. The beach, the bars, the strip, the people; the shopping .... it was the true ambiance of summer. I was taking it all in, enjoying a completely different atmosphere. Our beaches are not setup like this at home, so we absolutely loved it. Not to mention, the universe guiding me through a completely unexpected day when I was really needing something different in my life. Don't get me wrong, I love the constant partying, but I also love having a break from it. Exchanging so much sexual energy is exhausting for me. So having time to recharge is so important. This was the perfect way to do it.
Eventually it was time to head back to the hotel so I could nap before heading out for the night. Naps are so important before a night of partying. So I put my under eye patches on and took an hour power nap. I'm so thankful because we made it back to the hotel just in time to hunker down for the storm coming through. I slept right through it apparently, because Spencer Eventually woke me up to get ready, which only takes me about 15 minutes or so, so we were back out around 9pm.
It's Party Time
We all met at a local bar super close to the beach. The atmosphere was great and the people were amazing. We partied as lifestyle as we could get in a vanilla setting. I think everyone around us was loving it. Watching the faces of the other bar goers was pretty great. At one point, I was getting hit on by an 80 year old man. That guy brought his best A game that night because by the time it ended, he was dancing with a few of the girls. You rock on with your bad self. You're never too old to live your best life!
Truthfully, as much as I was looking forward to the event, the night turned out to be just what we all needed. Something unexpected, out of the ordinary and completely fun filled.
It was about 1am when we decided to end the night at the bar to walk to the beach where we would call for our Uber. It was such a beautiful night. The streets were pretty calm. A little ruckus here and there, but nothing too crazy. I was so excited because Spencer found me pizza. As he was ordering me a slice, he was simultaneously ordering the uber, which was approx. 15 min away.
We walked across the street to the beach and OMG, I scarfed that slice right down. I was so hungry. Dancing and drinking really work up an appetite. I have to say, it was pretty good pizza for not being New York pizza. Truthfully, I could have eaten three more slices. I was so hungry. Lol.
As we were walking the beach, waiting for the Uber, we realized the pickup time kept getting pushed out further and further. It became a tad concerning wondering if we were going to get picked up or not. At 1:30am in the morning, in an unknown location, that's not the most settling thoughts. Finally, around 1:40am a pickup time locked in and we were set to be back to our hotel by 2am.
I fell asleep in the Uber ride back. I was exhausted. But I knew I needed a second wind so I could give my man some booty grinding because I know it was on his mind all night long. And boy was it yummy!!! The perfect way to end an incredible day.
Sunday
We woke up around 8am with the sun shining and adventure on our minds. We decided to get up and venture back to the beach where we would hang until it was time to leave for the ferry. After showering and packing, we were on the road by about 930-945am to the b&b. We wanted to say hi to everyone before moving forward with our day. You could tell they had a really great night because it was perfect morning after scene. My favorite moments to see. I was listening to all their stories, watching them get their wits about them. It was great. While this was happening, Spencer decided that we would explore more of the area instead of staying at the beach. I was totally up for it. It was an absolutely gorgeous day which just screamed adventure.
We hopped in the car and drove. We ended up driving the coast line all the way up to Portsmouth, New Hampshire where we eventually stopped for lunch. But OMG, that drive was simply remarkable. A scene right out of a movie. The perfect way to flow into my birthday week. An unexpected adventure in every way.
Lunch was absolutely delicious... but look at the size of that pretzel!!
All Good Things Must Come to an End
Would you believe me if I said we were on target to be late for the ferry? Lmao! In good ole Spencer fashion, it's always a race to the finish line. And in good ole Spencer fashion, he always manages to get us there on time. It's really something else I tell ya.
The ferry ride home was crisp, clear, sunny and seamless. This is the first boat ride this year where it was as perfect as you can get. So we stopped in the lounge, ordered dinner and drinks, ate and then when to the top deck to absorb the sunshine. I took a small power nap, but goodness gracious, it was unbelievably hot.
The last leg of the travel, Spencer strapped on his race car helmet and drove us like we were in the Daytona 500. I don't know what it was that made him so spunky, but he was definitely feeling his car.
The end
And that's where the story ends. Me sitting in the hot tub putting the finishing touches on this blog as I think about smoking a joint with my furbaby while watching Netflix.
Until next time you guys, I'll talk to you super soon!
