Whether you're dipping your toes or ready to dive in headfirst, let me be your guiding voice through this sexy, exciting, and sometimes intimidating world. I’ve chatted with many of you about your concerns, questions, and cravings—and now it’s time to lay it all out with real talk, Mizzy-style. Getting Started: Observe Before You Swing
Here’s the first golden nugget of advice for all my newbies: take your time. I recommend observing the lifestyle for at least six months before actively participating. That means attending different kinds of events—house parties, club nights, hotel takeovers—without the pressure of "performing."
Why? Because each space has a different vibe, and it’s essential to figure out what feels right for you and your partner (if you have one). Think of it like trying on sexy outfits—you’ll know when one fits just right. Take your time. Watch body language. Watch how others interact. Pick up on the sensations that make you tingle. It is a fascinating world if you take your time to feel all the feels, creating a lifestyle you truly dreamt of.
Pro Tip:
Before heading out, check the event rules, dress codes, and etiquette. Knowing what’s expected helps set the tone for a respectful, exciting, and drama-free night. Each venue and group is different so you must do your homework.
Be Ready with Your Club Bag which includes a Hygiene kit
Confidence starts with feeling prepared, and nothing says I’ve got this like having your own club bag stocked and ready to roll. What should be in it?
Condoms (yes, multiple!) At our events, we give out condom carry cases including 3 condoms in each.
Lube (you never want to assume) Do you like silicone, water based? Do you have a favorite brand? Come prepared. If you want to play, do the upfront work to ensure safe, clean fun. At our Mindbender Parties events, we give out Spunk lube just incase you forget.
Personal hygiene items like wipes, deodorant, and mouthwash go a long way throughout the night.
A fresh change of clothes and some sort of flats if you're starting your night in heels is always a great addition to the club bag. I promise, you will love me for this notation. I usually start my night dressed in a fancy Mizzy way. Sexy elegant is what I go for and then sometime around 11:30pm-12am, I change into sporty sexy Mizzy. This works well for me because I get to capture both my personalities, I get to give my poor little sausages a break and I am able to dance a little more down and dirty. As time goes on, you will figure your mojo too.
Insecurities & Jealousies are Normal—But Let’s Talk About How To Move Through It
One community member opened up to me about his wife feeling insecure around other women in the lifestyle. First of all—thank you for being honest. That’s brave, and it’s more common than you think. Each and every one of us struggles with self insecurities.
Here's what I suggest:

Prioritize self-care. Whether it’s skincare, a solo date night, or just dancing in front of your mirror naked—do what makes you feel sexy. I have officially carved out from 5am to 7am to be my own personal time. I spend it in my little house writing for an hour and stretching / working out for an hour. It helps ground me in a peaceful way, setting me up for success. Believe me, this wasn't something that just happened, it has been a progression over time and a lot of self reflection, then implementing the changes that I need and then starting the cycle all over again. This has been going on for the last year with the start date of September 18, 2024. It's a lot, but I can live freely without feeling the eyes of judgement and you need that to be successful living an open relationship.
And remember: Your magic isn’t in your looks—it’s in your energy, your laugh, your vibe. That’s what makes you truly unforgettable. We are all unique. Let that shine! BE YOU!
Desires, Boundaries & Open Communication
Trust and communication come first.
Boundaries (what’s a yes, a maybe, and a no?) It will be different for everyone, but if you observe, you will start to realize the things that will make you really unhappy verse what will make you feel exhilarated.
Defining your composition (are we looking for a single guy, a couple, a repeat connection?) This will take a lot of communication with your partner. You need to know the ways and what makes this connection your need.
Communication (how do we share feedback or concerns?) This is major. Communication is about sharing and listening to actually understand the information being shared. You need to be able to speak without having a defense tone or making your partner feel less than. It is a slippery slope so be careful and take your time.
The clearer your connection, the better your experiences will be. We go by the simple tag line:
When the stars and moon align, we will know we want to play
Living by this has made every swinging experience incredibly explosive. There are times we are playing every weekend and then time where we don't play for months. It really just depends on life and the natural flow of things.
